Who processes your data

Lucarne, publisher of the app. For any question or to exercise your rights: lucarne.contact@gmail.com.

What we collect

Your email address, to create your account and let you sign back in. If you use Apple or Google, we receive the address that service passes on to us. With Apple’s “Hide My Email”, it is a relay address, and we never see your real address.

Your username, which is required. Your display name, bio, profile photo and favourite team, all optional.

What you post: your ratings, your reviews, the name of the player you pick as man of the match, your comments, the reviews you like, and the date you watched each match.

Your connections: the accounts you follow, those who follow you, and those you have blocked.

The reports you make, with their reason, any details you add and a copy of the reported content at the time of the report.

If you turn on notifications: your phone’s notification identifier, used only to send you the notifications you chose in the settings, and those choices themselves. Match reminders are scheduled on your phone and never go through our servers.

We collect no location data and no contacts. The app shows ads provided by Google: see “Advertising” below.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your data. We never pass your email address, username or reviews to an advertising network. Tracking across apps only happens if you allow it in iOS, for ads.

Lucarne has no private messaging: all interactions between users are public.

Where your data lives

On Supabase, our database and file host, in the European Union. Your profile photo is stored in a publicly readable space: its address can be guessed by anyone who has it, as with any profile photo shown publicly.

Notifications go through Expo’s delivery service, then through Apple’s or Google’s, which receive the notification text and your phone’s identifier for as long as it takes to deliver it.

Lucarne’s emails, such as the code to choose a new password, are sent from noreply@lucarne.eu through Resend, our email delivery service, from the European Union: it receives your email address and the message, for as long as it takes to send it.

Sports data (teams, competitions, matches, scores, scorers, line-ups) comes from ESPN, and for a small part of the history, from API-Football and Football-Data.org. These providers receive no information about you: the app never calls them directly, our server fetches the fixtures and scores.

The one exception is team crests: they are images your phone downloads from the servers of these providers, TheSportsDB or Wikimedia, which then see its IP address, as with any image online.

Advertising

The app shows banner ads provided by Google AdMob, in the feed, at the bottom of match pages and in the match list.

To choose ads and count how often they are shown, Google receives data from your phone: its advertising identifier if you allow tracking, otherwise an app-specific identifier, your IP address, from which it infers an approximate location, the phone’s model and language, and your interactions with the ads.

In the European Union, a Google form asks for your consent before any personalised ads. You can change your mind at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ad choices.

iOS also asks whether Lucarne may track your activity. If you decline, ads still appear, but they are not based on what you do in other apps.

Google processes this data under its own policies, described at policies.google.com. Gambling and betting ads are blocked.

Who sees what

Your username, display name, bio, photo, favourite team, statistics and public reviews are visible to everyone, including people without an account.

Your followers-only reviews are visible only to the people who follow you, and your private reviews only to you.

Accounts you have blocked, and those that have blocked you, no longer see your content, and you no longer see theirs. This rule is enforced by the database itself.

Your email address is never shown to another user.

How long

For as long as your account exists. When it is deleted, your email address, username, name, bio, photo, follows, blocks, the likes you gave and the phones registered for notifications are erased.

When you delete your account, you choose what happens to your reviews and comments: either they stay visible, detached from any identity, or they are erased with everything else.

The reports you made are kept without your name, for as long as moderation needs to handle them.

Your rights

You can access and correct your data directly in the app, under Edit profile.

You can delete your account from the settings. To exercise a full right of access, portability or objection, write to lucarne.contact@gmail.com: we reply within 30 days.

You can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, or with the authority of your country of residence.

Children

Lucarne is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you notice that an account was created by a child under 13, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

This policy may change. The date of the latest revision appears at the top of this page, and any significant change will be announced in the app.
